Electronic Interface for Turbine Flow Meters
June 1, 2005
(Racine, WI June 2005) The Flo-tech K-Factor Scaler is a field adjustable “frequency divider” that converts low level, pulsed frequency output from a turbine flow meter to a scaled, square wave output signal. It provides an interface with PLC, RTU, PC data acquisition cards or virtually any frequency counter or data input device. The F5140 K-Factor Scaler is one of the new electronic interfaces available from the company for use with its line of flow measurement and transmission devices.
The K-Factor Scaler is used as a preamplifier to amplify the pulse output from turbine flow meters such as the Ultima F6202-F (SAE) and F6222-F (BSPP) for transmission to Flo-tech F6600 (AC) and F6650 (DC) Series Digital Displays. With optional software it can also convert turbine meter output into a different frequency for other units of measurement such as liters, barrels, cubic feet, etc.
The unit includes an on board microcontroller, internal or external pull-up resistor and compact ABS enclosure with mounting flanges. It is field adjustable and PC programmable with optional software.
