Hedland Flow Meters for Compressed Gases & Pneumatic Systems
November 1, 2002
Racine, Wis.--- Hedland Flow Meters, a division of Racine Federated Inc. offers a complete line of flow meters for monitoring and measuring the flow rates of compressed air and other compressed gases.
The meters are used to verify that air and/or gas compressors are delivering the proper ratings for applications such as pneumatically actuated cylinders, air driven palletizers, pneumatically ejected components from plastic injection molding machines, pneumatically driven hand tools, etc.
Information derived from the flow meter allows timely preventative maintenance measures to be taken and establishes predictive information for future actions. It also allows operators to fine tune systems to maximize system efficiency.
Hedland's direct reading flow meters in brass or aluminum construction have a pressure rating of 1,000 psi (69 bar); in stainless steel, 1,500 psi (103 bar). All flow meters used for pneumatic operations have a 10:1 safety factor.
The new Hedland flow meters have accuracy of ±2%, maintain repeatability of ±1%, and are suited for all critical metering applications. They can monitor air/gas flow ranges from 0.5 SCFM to 2,200 SCFM (0.01 L/SEC to 1,130 L/SEC). Seven standard port sizes are available with either SAE, NPTF or BSPP threading.
Hedland direct reading flow meters feature a spring-loaded, variable area metering design and can install in any position without special piping or flow straighteners for operating convenience. A 360 degree rotatable multipressure scale is standard. Special scales for non-standard applications can easily be provided.
