(Racine, WI – July 2005) The new MR Flow Transmitter from Hedland is a variable area flow meter that provides a digital display of both flow rate and total accumulated flow. Both can be displayed in any one of a number of user selectable measurement units.

The MR Flow Transmitter combines state-of-the-art microprocessor-based technology with the rugged proven technology of a piston-type variable area flow meter. The solid state design electronically senses movement of the magnetic piston assembly and provides accurate, repeatable flow measurement. No mechanical linkages to bind or impede flow signal strength. The transmitters are insensitive to shock and vibration and ideally suited to high-cycle, transient flow situations. Typical applications might include gun drill and machine cooling, bearing lubrication and pump flow, and case drain verification.

All MR Flow Transmitters come pre-calibrated at the factory. However, the unit may be adjusted by the user to meet specific system requirements. Calibration parameters are provided for specific gravity compensation in water or petroleum fluids, and for specific gravity, pressure and temperature in pneumatic applications.
